Digi-Youth Kit: A Foundational Meeting in Marseille to Co-Create the Tools of the Future

On April 22, 2024, the 11 European partners of the Digi-Youth Kit project met in Marseille for the first transnational consortium meeting. Welcomed in a friendly yet productive atmosphere, participants laid the groundwork for a shared vision and common strategy for this ambitious project dedicated to the digital transformation of the youth work sector across Europe.

A Collective Dynamic for a Collaborative Project

This meeting allowed each partner organisation to present its expertise in training, youth work, and digital innovation. Together, they defined the project’s main orientations, reaffirming a central ambition: to strengthen the digital competences of youth centre coordinators and managers, providing them with practical tools to support young people in an increasingly digital environment.

Solid Foundations for the Digi-Youth Kit Course

Partners also began the first stages of developing the training course aimed at youth centre coordinators. This initial phase focused on identifying key competences, priority modules, and teaching methodologies to ensure an interactive, accessible, and practice-oriented learning experience.

A Shared Vision Looking Towards Impact

Beyond the technical discussions, this meeting in Marseille strengthened group cohesion and confirmed a shared European vision for digital transformation in the youth sector. Exchanges highlighted the complementarity of partners and the importance of creating resources that meet real field needs.

The meeting concluded with a clear roadmap and shared enthusiasm for the next steps, including the upcoming development of the Digi-Youth Kit e-course.

Digi-Youth Kit: Moving Forward with the Youth Workers' Course - A Key Meeting in Piraeus

On November 22, 2024, the 11 European partners of the Digi-Youth Kit project gathered in Piraeus, Greece, for a new transnational meeting dedicated to developing training paths for professionals in the youth sector.

After a first year focused on designing the training course for youth centre coordinators, this meeting offered partners the opportunity to present their progress, share results, and officially launch the second phase of the project: developing the training course for youth animators.

Shared Progress and Strong Foundations

Discussions began with the finalisation of the first training path, aimed at coordinators. Partners showcased developed modules, early feedback, and shared orientations to ensure coherence and quality across all content. This exchange highlighted the strengths of the Digi-Youth Kit e-course: a hands-on approach, European perspective, and strong alignment with real needs in the field.

A New Focus: Training Youth Animators

The second part of the meeting marked the official start of the youth animators’ training course. Together, partners defined the main framework of the programme, using recognised references such as ESCO (European Skills, Competences, Qualifications and Occupations) and Bloom’s Taxonomy to structure learning objectives across progressive competence levels.

This shared methodology ensures coherence, clarity, and transferability of the acquired skills, while making it easier to adapt the course to each partner’s national context.

An Ever-Strong European Collaboration

Beyond technical exchanges, the meeting in Piraeus reaffirmed the strong cohesion of the Digi-Youth Kit consortium. Partners highlighted their complementary expertise – pedagogical, digital, and social – and their shared commitment to building an innovative European learning tool supporting the digital transition of the youth sector.

The next steps will focus on drafting the training modules for youth animators, pilot testing, and preparing for the launch of the DigiYouthKit e-learning platform.

Digi-Youth Kit: Towards Finalisation and the Launnch of the Online Platform in Warsaw

On May 7, 2025, the 11 European partners of the Digi-Youth Kit project met in Warsaw, Poland, for a strategic meeting marking a new milestone in the project. After months of collaborative work, the gathering offered an opportunity to share the latest progress on both training paths – for coordinators and youth animators – and to set the direction for the coming phase: finalising the content, developing the online training platform, and even designing an innovative simulation game.

Courses Near Completion and Enhanced by Gamification

Partners first exchanged on the gamification elements integrated into the coordinators’ course, designed to make learning more interactive and engaging. Quizzes, challenges, badges, and progression levels are now part of the pedagogical framework, encouraging motivation and active participation.

Meanwhile, the youth animators’ course content was also presented and reviewed. Discussions focused on the final adjustments needed before moving to the completion phase, scheduled in the coming weeks.

Towards Platform Development and Pilot Testing

The Warsaw meeting also marked the Digi-Youth Kit e-learning platform development. This digital space will host both training courses and integrate interactive features tailored to the needs of youth professionals.

Partners also discussed a stakeholder engagement strategy to test the courses with youth animators and coordinators from different countries. A selection process based on participants’ skills and motivation was agreed upon to ensure high-quality, representative pilot testing and meaningful feedback.

A Glimpse of the Future: A SIMS-Like Game for Coordinators

Finally, the meeting opened exciting discussions around the development of an online simulation game dedicated to youth centre coordination. At this stage, a SIMS-style concept is being explored — allowing players to experiment with real-life management, planning, and communication challenges in a playful, interactive way.

This innovative direction perfectly reflects the Digi-Youth Kit philosophy: learning by doing, in an engaging and digital learning environment.
